Another thing this pattern has going for it is its simplicity ... I have found that store samples that are very complicated don't seem to appeal to people as much, and therefore sell less yarn. This design looks like it would be a good store sample, and for very young boys, would be appropriate. I think it depends on the kid, some boys would wear it anytime... but boys up through toddler age would probably wear it more happily. I vote for red or blue... there's a nice light blue in O-Wool. But the red is very good! I also just ordered white, by the way... I can't imagine why they didn't make O-Wool in white to start with, but now they do... the colors of O-Wool cry out for color work, and you kinda need to have white for contrast... :)

My boys wouldn't wear this after they started school but would have happily worn it until then. I'd go for a dark colour oatmeal just invites blood or chocolate with kids.

Hi Tracy,

I love this pattern and would put it on a boy under 3 or a girl of any age. I would like it myself! For boys over 3 I just like more texture that a gansey would have. As for color, the red sounds great! The darker the better because it won't show the dirt they collect right away:-) Maybe that was only my boys at a younger age. Kelley
